In the fifth sarga of Utpatti prakaraNa, Lord Raama asks Bhagavan VasisTa:
What is the root cause of Mind?
Bhagavan Vasistha replies:
From where the capacity of speech returns (being unable to express!); to where the liberated one (having liberated from Mind!) reaches; THAT is symbolized with the expressions like “atma” etc., which are only conceptualization and not of the TRUE nature. THAT is called as purusha by saamkhyas, THAT is called as Brahman by Vedantis, THAT is called vijnaana by vijnaanavaadis, THAT is ALONE untouched by impurities!
THAT is called as Shuunya by nihilists, THAT is the light of SUN and other bright things, that is the SPEAKER, THINKER, the RULE, the ENJOYER, the SEER, the DOER, the TRUTH is HE.
My Notes:
“yato vaacho nivartante” – from where the speech returns…. Why is the TRUTH inexplicable by speech?
In reality speech can’t express the true experience. For a blind person it is impossible to explain the beauty of a rainbow! one should only “see” the rainbow to realize the true nature of it. Speech can only glorify the experience and express it to someone else who has experienced…. It is like explaining the taste of Mango to someone who has not eaten Mango earlier by comparing it with some other fruit and sweet taste that gives… So, if someone who can never taste and never experienced anything called sweet taste, speech alone can never get any help in explaining the taste of Mango…
So, the ULTIMATE reality only experienced and never explained as it is the CORE of one’s own existence. Hence the ROOT CAUSE is the ULTIMATE REALITY ALONE!

This Upanishadic statement also means the same and little more. Great ones. I always deeply appreciated it. Thanks for elucidating it so well
Thanks Prof MST for your comment. Yes the verse you quoted is from Taittariya Upanishad and it has very deep meaning…
